Eviction Notice

Thankfully we don’t have one of those!  An eviction notice…  My wonderful in-laws have let us wholly invade their space for the past 6 weeks while we wait for our tenant’s lease to be up.  And tomorrow is the day!

We haven’t served our notice at the in-laws yet though, as we have a lot of painting at our house to do!  Hoping to be able to properly move in by Tuesday or Wednesday next week.  But the process is starting!  Tomorrow!

Muling over these first 6 weeks we have had in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada.  It really does feel like home to Carl and I, and the kids are rapidly getting used to it.  They still miss South Africa terribly, but Canada is growing on them! 🙂

We couldn’t have asked for better “landlords” than Carl’s parents.  They have graciously let us invade literally every nook and cranny of their home, change their schedules, modify their food, and disrupt their lives!  But they have loved it too!  Having their grandchildren and children in the same home with them after having us away for the past 10 years.  Pretty special times indeed!

Some of our days were mundane… homeschooling, working, applying for jobs, getting health insurance, washing dishes, etc.  But we enjoyed the mundane.  Would you like to see some pictures of our mundane? 😉  With a few fun ones thrown in!!

Our long time friends welcomed us back to Canada with slurpees and a barbecue at the local park.

Most days, however, started like this - with some of us still in our pyjamas... homeschool on the couch!

We’ve loved having you all stay with us. I’m so glad we’ve had this short time to live together after being apart for so long! I’m sure we’ll be back and forth A LOT after you move to your place too! The kids’ bikes already know the route! 😉
