Nope, not Christmas… although that runs a close second place. My favourite is Thanksgiving. I have a tradition that we started in South Africa. We always have a Thanksgiving meal – although it may not fall on either Canadian or American Thanksgiving. In SA, we often had it half way in between the two… late October or early November. But we always have it, and always invite beautiful friends (or family if we are with them) to share it with!
I am putting together my scrapbook – it is the only scrapbook that I do anymore. I have given up on “paper” scrapbooking. I do online scrapbooking, which i can finish one online in about a week. Paper scrapbooks take YEARS to finish! So I have given up. I did complete all my children’s baby scrapbooks (even the youngest!) Yay! She won’t have reason to complain… But haven’t done any scrapbooking since.
Except for my Thanksgiving scrapbook. Once a year I take a picture of whoever we are celebrating Thanksgiving with and they sign my scrapbook pages… sharing what they are thankful for. I am hoping to actually get that book put together in the coming weeks. But as I was sitting in my bed (I am home sick from work today) looking through old Thanksgiving pictures, my heart was so full of gratitude for all the beautiful people we have gotten to share Thanksgiving with!
Thought I would share some of them on my blog, as most of you will never get a chance to see my scrapbook, you can enjoy a little taste of it here.
The tradition will continue!
Maybe you will get in on the fun next year! Thanksgiving rocks! So much to be grateful for…
