My life is so full. Full of the most amazing people, family, friends, experiences, work, play, food, animals, (okay, not car. our car is not amazing, but that is the only exception) church, schools, etc, etc, etc. I am truly blessed. I see my blessings on a daily basis. I am getting in the habit of honestly counting them. (More on that in my next blog.) I am thrilled to get to report to you after a long hiatus from blogging some of the best blessings of the last 5 months.
1. Spending an amazing 23 days with my family in the states (included in that were BOTH Thanksgiving and Christmas!) This trip replaced the one we were supposed to have taken in June/July last year, and now we can see how God wanted us to have this special time with my family.
2. Exploring the Dominican Republic with my family and my in-laws – and getting to see where my husband spent 4 years as a child.
3. 21 Glorious days in the great white north that we call home! Canada! This included a fun New Year’s celebration and Marae’s birthday!
4. We managed to fit in a day of skiing at a small little ski resort in Edmonton – but for us living in Africa, ANY skiing was delicious! We had a WONDERFUL day!
5. Heart warming connections with old friends who have remained “committed” to us, despite the fact we have now been away for 8 years!!!!!!!! (I just put in a few pics! It would have overloaded this blog if I put in everyone! Thank you to all my amazing friends!! mwah!)
5. Appointments with doctors – whose reports say we are all healthy! A HUGE blessing! And especially with the report from Marae’s surgical ophthalmologist – he discharged her from his care, and said she can be followed by a normal ophthalmologist now. She is doing incredibly well!!
6. Snow, glorious snow! We have missed it!!
7. My eldest publicly committed her life to God and was co-baptized by her father and her grandfather. This event was the highlight of the entire trip!
8. I cannot finish a list of blessings without including just a little bit of Taco Bell! 🙂 Yup, I am a believer! Unfortunately, no pictures of the Bell this time. 😉
9. Family is always the biggest highlight!!! Grateful to God for our amazing families!!
The list could go on and on and on! But just wanted to hit the highlights!
Thank you for your love and prayers. The last few months have been raw and difficult, which is why it is nice to reflect on the blessings. More on the raw and difficult in the next post.
Love you. Love your heart. Love that despite pain you can see the blessings. We are so overdue the biggest, longest chat EVER! One day…..
I love you, too, Ruthie. I am praying about Greece in April. Please pray with me. I am really wanting to go to this conference and I would be in heaven if you were able to come too!!!
I too am thankful you got to come visit your families at holiday time instead of in the summer. These blessings you have listed will be wonderful memories for your tomorrows. Love you.
Thank you my dear aunt! And I hated the reason I got to see you, but I loved seeing you in March. I was just thinking the other day of how Dad was so incredibly proud of Kendra. He spoke of her often and of the tough beginning of her life (being born early) and how amazing she has turned out. God has blessed our family in so many ways! Love you all!!!
Hi Michelle, – thanks for the thoughts and especially the photos of your family! WE too miss the opportunity to connect more regularly with you. We are patiently awaiting spring to arrive in AB so we too can have some “beach” photos. Love you guys so much and miss you. God bless you as you continue to follow God through the remainder of this year.
Thank you so much Gerry and Donna. You guys are very special to us!!
